Privacy Policy

How NestPath collects, uses and protects your personal information, in plain English. This policy covers everything at nestpath.com.au and follows the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

Last updated 4 July 2026

The short version

  • NestPath is free to use, and you can use the whole site without giving us your name.
  • We only collect the details you choose to type in, plus standard analytics about how the site is used.
  • We use Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, and Meta and TikTok advertising pixels to understand traffic and measure our ads. The full list is below.
  • We never sell your personal information, and we never charge you for connecting with a partner.
  • You can ask us what we hold about you, correct it, or ask us to delete it, any time.

What information we collect

What we collect depends on how you use the site. In practice it comes down to three things:

Details you give us

Your name and email address when you use a contact form, ask a question, subscribe, or send us a message. Nothing more than what you choose to type in.

Calculator inputs

The figures you enter into our borrowing power, stamp duty and other calculators. These run in your browser to give you a result. We do not attach them to your name unless you separately send them to us.

Technical information

Standard web data such as your approximate location, IP address, browser and device type, and which pages you viewed. This is collected automatically by the analytics tools below.

Under the Privacy Act, Personal Information means information or an opinion about someone who is reasonably identifiable. If information does not identify you or let someone work out who you are, it usually is not Personal Information and is not covered by this policy. We do not generally collect Sensitive Information (such as health, racial or ethnic origin, or political or religious beliefs), and if we ever did, we would only use it for the reason you gave it to us, or with your consent, or where the law requires it.

Analytics and advertising tools we use

Like most websites, we use a handful of third party tools to understand how the site is used and to measure our advertising. These tools collect standard web data, usually through cookies, and each one has its own privacy policy. Here is exactly what runs on NestPath and what it does:

Google Analytics 4

Measures which pages people visit and how they move through the site, so we can see what is useful and what is not. It does not tell us who you are by name.

Your choice: You can install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or block analytics cookies in your browser.

Microsoft Clarity

Records anonymised session replays and heatmaps (mouse movement, clicks and scrolling) so we can see where people get stuck. Clarity masks text you type into forms.

Your choice: Clarity stops recording if you enable Do Not Track or block its cookies.

Meta (Facebook) Pixel

Tells us if a visit came from a Facebook or Instagram ad and helps us measure how our ads perform.

Your choice: You can control ad tracking in your Facebook and Instagram ad settings, or block the cookie in your browser.

TikTok Pixel

Does the same job as the Meta pixel for our TikTok ads: it measures whether an ad led to a visit.

Your choice: You can control ad personalisation in your TikTok settings, or block the cookie in your browser.

We use what these tools tell us in aggregate, to improve the site and to see whether our ads are working. We do not use them to build a profile of you as a named individual.

Cookies

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. We use them to remember your preferences, keep the site working smoothly, and power the analytics and advertising tools above. As a general rule we cannot personally identify you from our own cookies.

You are in control. Every major browser lets you see, block or delete cookies in its settings, and you can use the opt out options listed for each tool above. Blocking cookies may mean some parts of the site do not work as smoothly.

How we use your information

  • To give you the best possible experience on the site and to answer your questions.
  • To keep in touch about first home buyer news and updates, but only if you gave us your details directly and would reasonably expect to hear from us. Every message has a one click unsubscribe.
  • To improve the site, using the aggregate analytics described above.
  • We share your details only with the service providers that help us run the site (for example our email and hosting providers), and only so they can do their job.

We do not sell your personal information to anyone, ever.

Affiliate links and partner referrals

NestPath is free because of two things, and we want to be upfront about both. Some product links on the site (for example to items on Amazon) are affiliate links, so we may earn a small commission if you buy through them, at no extra cost to you.

We also earn a referral fee from trusted partners like mortgage brokers, conveyancers and building inspectors when you choose to connect with one through us. The partner pays us, never you, and it does not change what you pay them. You can read exactly how this works on our Our Partners page.

How we store and protect your information

When you send us details through a form, they are stored securely with our hosting and database provider (Supabase). We take reasonable steps to protect your information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access.

We keep personal information only as long as we need it. Records we are required to hold for our record keeping obligations are kept for up to 7 years, after which we take reasonable steps to destroy, anonymise or de identify them.

Your rights: access and correction

Under the Australian Privacy Principles you can:

  • Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you (Australian Privacy Principle 12).
  • Ask us to correct anything that is wrong or out of date (Australian Privacy Principle 13).
  • Ask us to delete your information, where we are not required to keep it.

Just email us at hello@nestpath.com.au and we will sort it out.

Where your information is processed

Some of the providers we use, including Google, Microsoft, Meta, TikTok and Supabase, store and process data on servers outside Australia, including in the United States. By using the site you understand that this data handling may take place overseas. We choose established providers and rely on their own privacy and security commitments, but a provider outside Australia is not bound by the Australian Privacy Principles in the same way we are.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal information, please email us first so we can try to fix it. Complaints are handled by Anish Puri, and we may ask for more detail to understand your concern. If we agree your complaint is well founded, we will work with you to put it right. If you are still not satisfied, you can take the matter to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Questions about your privacy?

If you have any questions about this policy, want to access your information, or want to make a complaint, we are happy to help.
