This is the gate for the doorway you walk through fifty times a day, and it is our overall pick. The walk through door opens with one hand (thumb the latch, swing, done), which is exactly what you need with a baby o…Which one should you buy?
For most people the Regalo Easy Step Walk Thru at $69.49 is the one to buy - it is the most-reviewed walk-through pressure gate in the world, with 81,891 ratings on its global listing, a one-hand door you can open with a baby on your hip and a 74-99cm range that covers most Australian doorways, which is why it is our pick. The one place it must never go is the top of stairs - no pressure gate belongs there. For the top of stairs, the hardware-mounted Perma Child Safety retractable at $56.44 is the Australian-brand answer: it screws in, rolls away completely and leaves no trip bar. The cheapest way in is the Regalo Easy Fit at $55.93, a simple pressure barrier you step over. The Dreambaby Chelsea at $69.95 is the Australian heritage pick with an auto-close door and the highest rating here at 4.6 stars. For wide openings the runner-up BABELIO extra-wide at $95.99 spans 73.7-122cm without extensions, and for climbers and cat households the 91.4cm extra-tall BABELIO at $109.99 adds a built-in pet door.
