Christmas gift bags are quicker than wrapping paper, but the sets are not alike. They differ in bag size, how many bags you get and whether tissue paper is in the pack. This guide compares seven sets on exactly those points, using each listing's own facts, rating and rating count.
The picks run from three large Hallmark bags to a 48 bag JOYIN pack. Find the size and pack count you need first, then check the tissue paper line in each section.

How to choose Christmas gift bags
Match the bag size to the present
Start with the biggest present on your list. The JOYIN 12 large bags are about 34.9 by 35.6 cm and the Hallmark bags about 26.4 by 33 cm. The large bags in the SHIPKEY and OfficeCastle sets are about 30 cm wide. For small gifts, the JOYIN 36 piece set has the smallest bags at about 14 by 10.8 cm, and the SHIPKEY and OfficeCastle small bags start at about 14 by 15 cm. If a present is still too big, a roll from our wrapping paper guide is the better tool.
Check whether tissue paper is included
Tissue paper is in the Hallmark (9 sheets), SHIPKEY (10 sheets), OfficeCastle (10 sheets) and JOYIN 36 piece (18 sheets) listings. The JOYIN 24 title and the JOYIN 48 listing say it is not included. Buying a set without it is fine if you already have tissue paper at home.
Count the bags, not the pieces
Pack counts mean different things. The Hallmark set has 3 bags, the JOYIN 12, SHIPKEY and OfficeCastle sets have 12, the JOYIN 36 piece set has 12 bags among its 36 pieces, the JOYIN 24 set has 24 and the JOYIN 48 set has 48. Add up the presents you wrap, then choose the pack that covers them.
The Hallmark assortment has 3 attached gift tags, and the JOYIN 36 piece set adds 6 sheets of wrapping paper to its bags and tissue, with a tag named in its title. Most other sets are bags only, or bags and tissue, so a pack of tags may be worth adding.
Pick the look and the material
The Hallmark designs are foil accented and elegant, SHIPKEY lists Santa and deer patterns, OfficeCastle lists red bags with Santa and reindeer, and the three JOYIN kraft sets use character designs. OfficeCastle describes paperboard with reinforced handles, SHIPKEY describes a cardboard base, and JOYIN 24 describes thick, sturdy bags with durable handles.
Bags, sack or stocking
Bags suit presents you hand over individually. For a pile under the tree, see our Santa sack guide, and for small items that fit the little bags, our stocking fillers guide has ideas.
