A bag of 25 in size 4, listed for babies 7 to 14kg. The bullet points say that if your baby is near the top of the weight range, or you are seeing leaks or tight tabs, you should size up for a better fit.

The listing says the topsheet that touches baby's skin is bio based, made from GMO free corn starch and Green PE bio based materials, and that the core uses FSC certified wood fluff. It says the nappies are free from latex, chlorine, perfumes, parabens, phthalates, lotions, heavy metals and toxic dyes, designed in Australia and manufactured in Denmark, and carry Dermatest and Allergy Certified approvals. Could not be bought on 23 October 2026: the Amazon AU listing showed no seller and no add to cart button, and the stock feed reported it as currently unavailable.

For reference, the listing is size 2, and it gives its pack count two ways: its title and a bullet say a 22 pack, while its product information table says 192 for both Number of Items and Unit Count. Its title says suitable for babies 4 to 7 kg, while its last bullet says designed for newborns up to 8 kg. The listing states 85% plant based materials, FSC certified wood pulp with Japanese SAP, 3D leak guards, a 360 degree absorb pad, a plant based wetness indicator and 100% recyclable packaging printed with food grade inks. What should you look for when buying nappies in Australia?

Start with the weight range on the pack, not your baby's age, because every listing here gives its size as a kilogram range or limit. Check the pack count, the waistband and the stated hours of protection. Treat the hours as a ceiling, since how long a nappy lasts depends on your baby.

Weight ranges overlap between sizes and brands, so a baby near the top of a range may fit better in the next size. The Joonya listing says that if your baby is near the top of the weight range, or you are seeing leaks or tight tabs, you should size up for a better fit.

Then compare the pack count. A larger box is a longer supply rather than a different nappy, but the Huggies Ultra Dry title says 180 while its description says 184. The listing shows the current price, so compare the count and the weight range there.

Look for a wetness indicator if you want one, and check whether it covers the size you are buying: the Cosifit A+ content marks its wetness lines for sizes 1, 2 and 3 only. A stretchy waistband is stated on several listings here, including the Huggies Newborn ultra soft waistband, the Cosifit stretchy waistband and the SleepyNights stretchy 360 degrees waistband. Treat the absorbency hours figure as a ceiling rather than an expectation: several listings here state 12 hours, but whether your baby gets 12 hours depends on how much they drink and how heavily they wet, and no listing can tell you that.

How do you store nappies and keep the change table sane?
