Buy the Cooki Peppermint and Chamomile Shampoo Bar 65g if you want the top rated bar here: its Amazon listing shows 5.0 stars from 13 ratings, and Amazon can share that count across Cooki listings, so treat it as a small sample. For a bigger review base, the Viori Hidden Waterfall bar shows 4.4 stars from 6,050 ratings.

Weights are the title or size field on each listing. The product tables show different weights for the Cooki Peppermint bar (90 Grams), Shampoo with A Purpose (150 Grams), the Cooki Argan bar (70 Grams) and the Nuxe bar (1 Grams). The Viori title gives no weight, so we used its 90 g size field, and its package weight line reads 87.88 Grams.
The Cooki Peppermint and Chamomile bar has the highest rating at 5.0, on only 13 ratings. Among the bars with more than a hundred ratings, Nuxe has the highest rating, 4.6 from 378. Earth Rhythm has the lowest rating in the table at 4.0 from 1,714.
How we chose these shampoo bars
NestPath reads Amazon Australia listings; we do not run a salon and we did not test any bar on hair. This is a listings based method, and being straight about that beats pretending otherwise.
Our two sources are the Amazon Australia listing for each bar (title, bullet points, product information table, ratings and review count) and the maker's own wording on that listing (description, ingredient list and directions). Specs come from the maker's bullet points and the product information on each listing. Liquid shampoos and any bar whose listing opened a different product were left out. Some listings carry scalp, dandruff or hair growth wording; we do not repeat it as ours.
Each bar was then checked for four things: the weight in the listing title against the product table, the ingredient list read against the claims on the same listing, the maker's directions and storage advice, and the rating read together with its count. Where a claim and an ingredient list disagree, the disagreement is reported below rather than smoothed over.

The Cooki Peppermint and Chamomile Shampoo Bar 65g is our best overall pick because its Amazon Australia listing shows 5.0 stars from 13 ratings, the top rating among the live bars here. Cooki Haircare sells it and Amazon ships it. The count is small, and Amazon can share a count across Cooki listings, so read the 5.0 as a promising sign rather than proof.
The listing title gives the weight as 65g with a tin, while the product information table shows 90 Grams, so confirm what arrives. The ingredient list starts with sodium coco sulfate, then natural organic cocoa butter and extra virgin coconut oil, followed by patchouli oil, citronella oil, chamomile and peppermint extracts, peppermint and chamomile essential oils, and mica.
The bullets say the bar is vegan, free from silicones, parabens and synthetic fragrance, and colour safe to use on highlights. They say one bar can replace up to three 200ml bottles of liquid shampoo when stored correctly, that it foams into a bubbly lather, and that it is packaged plastic free in a recyclable box or reusable tin.
Cooki's directions say to wet the bar in your hands until it foams, run it through wet hair at the roots a few times, massage it in, then rinse and follow with the conditioner bar. They add that you should store the bar on a drainer dish, not in the travel tin, away from the direct stream of water, so it dries fully between uses.
Flaws but not dealbreakers
The rating rests on 13 ratings. The description says the bar is made without SLS, yet the ingredient list starts with sodium coco sulfate, and the product table shows country of origin China. The listing is written around oily scalps and carries scalp and dandruff wording; we do not repeat that as ours and we did not test the bar on hair. Patch test a small area first, which is our general advice, and stop using the bar if irritation occurs, as the listing's own safety information says: "If irritation occurs, discontinue use."
Earlier lead bar: Beauty and the Bees Bee Shiny pH Balanced Shampoo Bar
The Beauty and the Bees Bee Shiny pH Balanced Shampoo Bar was the earlier lead bar on this page. It could not be bought on 21 October 2026: Amazon's feed lists it as currently unavailable, and the Amazon Australia link now opens a different bar, the Beauty and the Bees Bee Clean pH Balanced Shampoo Bar for Oily Hair and Scalp. We no longer recommend it.
The ingredient list starts with sodium cocoyl isethionate and includes guar gum, plant origin glycerin, natural coconut fragrance, Moroccan argan oil, coconut oil, sodium laurel sulphoacetate, betaine and shea butter. The bullets say it contains shea butter, argan oil and coconut for all hair types and is gentle on the hair.
One note on labelling: the product information table lists Sulfate Free, Paraben Free under Material Type Free, while the ingredient list further down the page includes sodium laurel sulphoacetate, so check the ingredients if you avoid sulfates. The title says 135 Grams while the product table shows 150 Grams.
Flaws but not dealbreakers
With 44 ratings the sample is small next to the Viori or Earth Rhythm bars, so treat the 4.5 as promising rather than settled. The ingredient list includes a natural coconut fragrance.
Viori Hidden Waterfall Rice Water Shampoo Bar
The Viori Hidden Waterfall bar shows 4.4 stars from 6,050 ratings, the largest review base among the live bars here. Its title describes a bar handcrafted with Longsheng rice water and natural ingredients, says it is pH balanced and 100% vegan, and the size field reads 90 g. The buy box seller is What America Buys.
The bullets list Longsheng rice, cocoa butter and shea butter, rice bran oil and hydrolyzed rice protein, and aloe vera and bamboo as ingredients. They describe a fresh, citrus scented bar infused with essential oils including cedarwood oil, mandarin, jasmine, sandalwood and amber, and say the scent is best for normal to oily hair.
The bullets say 5% of profits are donated back to the Red Yao Tribe, from which the rice is sourced. The directions read: Wet hair, rub shampoo bar to create lather, massage lather into scalp and hair, rinse thoroughly.
Flaws but not dealbreakers
The title makes sulphate free, paraben free, cruelty free and phthalate free claims, but the product information lists vitamin E in its Active Ingredients field and gives no full ingredient list, while the bullets name the ingredients. The bullets also use hair growth wording, which we do not repeat. Any bar lasts longer on a drainer dish out of the stream of water, as the Cooki directions say.
Cooki Argan Oil Shampoo Bar for dry, grey or curly hair
The Cooki Argan Oil Shampoo Bar is a separate bar from the Peppermint and Chamomile crown. Its title aims it at dry, grey, frizzy or curly hair and says In Box 65g (No Tin). Amazon shows 4.4 stars from 21 ratings, and the bar is sold by Cooki Haircare and shipped by Amazon. Amazon can share ratings across Cooki listings, so the count may include feedback on other Cooki bars.
The ingredient list is short: sodium coco sulfate, natural organic cocoa butter, extra virgin coconut oil, organic argan oil, organic hemp seed oil and mica. The bullets say vegan and colour safe, free from silicones, parabens and synthetic fragrance, and that one bar can replace up to three 200ml bottles of liquid shampoo when stored correctly.
The product table lists SLS free beside sodium coco sulfate on the ingredient list, so check the ingredients if avoiding sulfates is the reason you are switching.

Nuxe Reve de Miel Gentle Shampoo Bar
Amazon shows the Nuxe Reve de Miel Gentle Shampoo Bar at 4.6 stars from 378 ratings, the highest rating among the live bars with more than a hundred ratings. The title gives 65 g, and the buy box seller is Be and Care.
The listing text describes a shampoo made with honey of Provence and organic camelina oil. The bullets say its generous foam is easy to rinse and allows easy disentangle, that it is sulphate free and suitable for all hair types, and that hair is easy to style, comb and manage. The ingredient list starts with hydrogenated vegetable oil and sodium cocoyl isethionate, and includes glycerin, parfum or fragrance, decyl glucoside, camelina sativa seed oil and honey.
The directions read: Apply directly to wet hair to lather, or to lather in hands. Massage the scalp then rinse.
Flaws but not dealbreakers
The listing has loose ends. The language field reads Spanish, the product table gives a weight of 1 Grams against the 65 g in the title, and the listing text gives two different natural origin figures, so we quote neither.
What the ingredient lists show
Five of the six live listings give an ingredient list, and the first ingredient tells you which cleanser the bar is built on. The two Cooki bars start with sodium coco sulfate. Earth Rhythm and Shampoo with A Purpose start with sodium cocoyl isethionate, and the Nuxe list starts with hydrogenated vegetable oil followed by sodium cocoyl isethionate. The Viori product information lists vitamin E in its Active Ingredients field and gives no full ingredient list, while its bullets name the ingredients.
Fragrance appears in different forms. The crown lists patchouli oil, citronella oil and peppermint and chamomile oils, Earth Rhythm lists a phthalate free fragrance, Shampoo with A Purpose lists a natural coconut fragrance and the Nuxe list includes parfum or fragrance. The Argan list names no fragrance, and its listing says it is free from synthetic fragrance. If you avoid a particular ingredient, read the ingredient list on the listing itself.
Where the listings disagree with themselves
Several listings give two values for one fact, and we name both rather than pick one. The Cooki Peppermint and Chamomile title says 65g while its product table shows 90 Grams. The Cooki Argan title says 65g and its table shows 70 Grams. Shampoo with A Purpose says 135 Grams in the title and 150 Grams in the table, and the Nuxe title says 65 g while its table shows 1 Grams. Viori has no weight in its title; its size field reads 90 g, its package weight line reads 87.88 Grams and its Item Weight line reads 3.1 Ounces.
Claims can also sit beside a conflicting ingredient list. The Cooki Argan table says SLS free and the crown description says made without SLS, yet both list sodium coco sulfate. The Earth Rhythm bullets say its bars contain no chemicals or preservatives while its ingredient list includes phenoxyethanol, and they mention a tin box while its model number field reads Cardboard Packaging. The Shampoo with A Purpose product information table lists Sulfate Free, Paraben Free under Material Type Free, while its ingredient list includes sodium laurel sulphoacetate. Treat each listing as the maker's claim, not a test result.
Which shampoo bar suits your hair type?
Use each listing's own aim. The Cooki Peppermint and Chamomile bar is listed for oily scalps, the Cooki Argan bar for dry, grey, frizzy or curly hair, and the Earth Rhythm bar for dry, frizzy, curly or wavy hair. Shampoo with A Purpose and Nuxe both say suitable for all hair types. These are makers' claims, not tests.
Viori's bullets say its scent is best for normal to oily hair, and its title says best for any curly, wavy, grey, straight, coloured hair. We did not test any bar on hair, so use these as the makers' descriptions of who each bar is for.

The two largest rating counts belong to Viori at 6,050 and Earth Rhythm at 1,714. Nuxe has 378, Shampoo with A Purpose 44, the Cooki Argan bar 21 and the Cooki Peppermint and Chamomile bar 13, and Amazon can share a count across Cooki listings. A 5.0 from 13 ratings and a 4.0 from 1,714 ratings are different kinds of evidence.
Which shampoo bar has the best scent?
Scent is personal, so use what each listing states. The Cooki Peppermint and Chamomile bar lists peppermint and chamomile essential oils with patchouli and citronella oil. Viori describes a fresh citrus scent, Shampoo with A Purpose lists a natural coconut fragrance, and the Cooki Argan listing says it is free of synthetic fragrance.
The Earth Rhythm ingredient list ends with a phthalate free fragrance (IFRA Certified), and the Nuxe list includes parfum or fragrance. Viori's bullets name cedarwood oil, mandarin, jasmine, sandalwood and amber as its essential oils.
